# Authentication and authorisation with Java Bindings?

You can set the token when [building the ledger client](https://docs.daml.com/app-dev/bindings-java/javadocs/com/daml/ledger/rxjava/DamlLedgerClient.Builder.html#withAccessToken(java.lang.String)) or on individual requests, e.g., [command submission](https://docs.daml.com/app-dev/bindings-java/javadocs/com/daml/ledger/rxjava/CommandSubmissionClient.html#submit(java.lang.String,java.lang.String,java.lang.String,java.util.List,java.util.List,java.util.List,java.lang.String)).
