# Command Deduplication in Canton

1. Does Command Deduplication work exactly as described at [The Ledger API services — Daml SDK 1.18.1 documentation](https://docs.daml.com/app-dev/services.html#command-deduplication) for all Canton ledgers? Are there any differences/specificities to be aware of?

2. Is there a plan to introduce command deduplication across participant nodes in Canton?

1. Yes, it does with the caveat you point out in 2.
2. No, there are no plans to add command deduplication across participants for Canton. However, command deduplication does, of course, work across the active-passive replicas of a HA participant node in Canton.

Re 1: The documentation for command deduplication has been completely rewritten for Daml 2.0 and that is actually what Canton supports, not the 1.18.1 docs.
