Share IP whitelisting across MainNet, TestNet & DevNet

The Splice team announced last week that they have completed sufficient testing to allow Validators to safely share IP addresses across DevNet, TestNet and MainNet.

Yesterday the Super Validator operators voted to adopt the following proposal:

Proposal: Allow any entity to operate a validator nodes on DevNet, TestNet and MainNet from behind the same egress IP address. Change docs to remove the limitation. Change tests to allow for this. Do announce publicly. Do not block requests to share IPs.

It’s imagined that several Validator operators will want to move to shared IP addresses, so they can run DevNet, TestNet and MainNet nodes from a shared cluster. The process for listing a single IP on all three whitelists (DevNet, TestNet, and MainNet) starts with initiating the request with your SV Sponsor. It’s also imagined that it would be safe to assume that SVs will prioritize this lower than other operational requests, so it’s probably a good idea to assume that updates and propagation may take a couple of weeks.
